Dali PowerTower in the Philippines
The Dali PowerTower installation took place in summer 2014 at the Children’s Village near Manila supported by the Hills of Grace Foundation, Children’s Mission. The Dali PowerTower stands on a steep hill, which made the installation process challenging, but such positioning is most advantageous for the wind energy generation. Concrete foundation was made on site. The wood used for the tower was Swedish pine with pressure impregnation, which provided adequate protection of the wooden parts from deterioration and termite infestation. The wind turbine was a 3 kW China-made lightweight machine. A tailor-made electric cabinet with an array of gel batteries was installed for off-grid operation of the solution.
