Why should I invest in wind and solar power?

How much money will I save by investing in solar panels or a hybrid system?
By installing solar panels on your property or lot, you’ll lower your monthly electricity bills and won’t be as affected by price increases. The amount you’ll save depends on the number of panels and the type of solar panels or hybrid system you choose to invest in, and varies from person to person. One thing is certain, however: you’ll lower your electricity costs.
What are the environmental benefits of installing solar panels or a hybrid system?

Like other green energy sources, solar power offers numerous benefits when it comes to environmental impact. By investing in solar panels, a solar-powered carport, or a hybrid system from InnoVentum, you can reduce your carbon footprint by cutting down on carbon dioxide emissions and other toxic emissions that can have a negative impact on human health.

What is the lifespan of solar panels or a hybrid wind and solar energy solution?

Almost all solar panels come with a 25-year warranty, which is a strong indication of their lifespan. In addition, regular maintenance of solar panels extends their lifespan. Regular maintenance is recommended.

When it comes to our hybrid on- or off-grid energy systems, the inverter comes with a warranty of 5 to 10 years, depending on the brand and model. Energy storage systems, such as batteries, come with a warranty of 1 to 10 years, depending on the brand and model.

Can I install solar panels or a small-scale wind turbine myself?

Installing solar panels yourself can be a way to reduce the upfront cost. Some people choose to install the mounting racks and panels themselves and then have a certified electrician complete the installation.

Our small-scale wind turbines for homes, farms, and businesses are available as a DIY option thanks to the patented wooden tower, which can be erected without a crane.

What is an electricity meter, and how does it work?

By installing your own solar panels, a solar-powered carport, or one of our hybrid systems, you become a micro-producer of electricity. This requires that you notify your utility provider and sign a new contract.

The contract specifies both the purchase price for the property and the price per kWh sold back to the grid in the event of excess production. In order for the utility company to measure the electricity flowing to and from the grid, a new electricity meter must be installed; the utility company typically installs this at no additional cost.

An important part of calculating the return on an investment in solar power is determining how much you can earn from the locally generated energy that you sell back to the grid.

How does investing in solar and wind energy affect the value of my property?
According to studies, homes equipped with solar panels or a combination of solar and wind energy sell for a higher price than properties with a traditional grid connection. This is especially true when homeowners own their solar panel system rather than leasing it.
Why shouldn't I feed more renewable energy into the grid than I purchase?
To qualify as a solar micro-producer, you may not feed more solar power into the grid than you consume. The government subsidy of 60 öre per kWh is subject to the same cap. In other words, if you stay below this cap, your system’s financial performance will improve.

Carport with solar cells and solar panel systems

What is a carport with solar panels, and how does it work?
A carport with solar panels protects parked vehicles from the elements while generating clean, green electricity that can be used to charge and power electric vehicles or the property. The surplus solar power generated by the carport with solar panels can thus be used to supply the property with green energy. In addition to eliminating traditional fuel costs for your car, you also lower your electricity costs or sell the surplus solar power to the public grid in your area. Awesome!
What are the benefits of InnoVentum's carport with solar panels?

The benefits of InnoVentum’s solar-powered carport are as follows:

  • Solar Carport lowers your electricity bills by reducing the amount of conventional energy you use, since you power your electric vehicle and home with renewable solar energy.
  • Solar panels collect solar energy and convert it into electricity from the sun or wind (depending on which of our products best suits your energy needs). This means you have an independent and clean source of energy.
  • Since the Solar Carport will lower your energy costs, provide secure parking, and serve as a charging station for your electric car, it means that the usable space is optimized to the fullest extent, unlike rooftop solar panels, for example.
  • If you generate more wind and solar energy than you need, you can store it in your solar batteries or sell the surplus to the traditional grid.
Are there different models of the Solar Carport?

Depending on your energy needs, there are a few Solar Carport options to consider.

Dimensions:

Our solar-powered carport is available in two models

  • For private electric vehicles
  • For electric work vehicles and vans
  • It is also available in sizes ranging from two electric cars to enough to cover an entire parking lot. Only the available space limits the number of cars that can fit.
How much money will I save by installing a carport with solar panels?
This depends on factors that affect solar energy production. These include, for example, the type of solar cells installed, the number of solar panels installed, and the location of the solar cells.
Why should I invest in a solar carport instead of rooftop solar panels?
There are several reasons why investing in InnoVentum’s Solar Carport is a good idea. It may be that the property’s roof isn’t facing the optimal direction for energy production—south—or that there are other factors, such as shade or roof renovation. Our solar carport is freestanding and can be installed in any direction to optimize energy production while also protecting vehicles from the elements.
A carport with solar panels or a traditional carport?
The main advantage is that you create a source of income for your electric car and property. By installing solar panels, you create a local energy production system that supplies your property or electric vehicle with renewable energy; you can also sell surplus solar power directly to the traditional power grid.

What are solar panels, and how do they generate solar power?
Solar panels generate energy in the form of solar power by converting photons from sunlight into electrons or electrical energy in the form of direct current. Since most of our homes run on alternating current, an inverter is required so that we can use the energy generated.
What happens if it snows and the snow covers my solar panels?
Since solar panels need sunlight to generate electricity, snow will reduce energy production. However, this isn’t always a major problem, as most panels are mounted at an angle so that the snow can slide off.If they do happen to get covered in snow, you just need to brush the snow off to restore solar power production.
Will my solar panels generate renewable energy even when the sun isn't shining?
Yes, it will. This is because sunlight—or rather, solar energy—penetrates the clouds, though not to the same extent as on a clear, blue-sky day. The only time your panels won’t produce energy is at night, since the sun’s rays don’t reach the Earth.
Do off-grid solar panels work during a power outage, for example?
It depends on whether your solar panels are connected to the power grid (on-grid) or not (off-grid). If they are connected to the power grid, your solar panels will not work, as they are shut down to protect service technicians and emergency responders. However, if your solar panels are either off-grid or connected to batteries, they can continue to operate.
If I install solar panels, will I still get an electricity bill?

Yes, you will. It will be lower than it was before you invested in solar panels—exactly how much lower depends on the system or solar installation you choose.

Your electricity bill will be lower because

  • You will purchase less energy because you will be using the electricity you generate yourself from solar, wind, or hybrid systems
  • You can sell your excess solar power (the power you don’t use) back to the traditional power grid, which results in either: income per kWh or a credit on your existing electricity bill. You’ll work this out with your electricity provider.

The only way to avoid getting an electricity bill is to go completely off-grid with energy storage in the form of batteries, which we at InnoVentum can help you achieve. Off-grid means that you are not connected to a traditional power grid or electricity provider.

How much does it cost to maintain solar panels?
Solar panels are well-constructed with tempered glass and require little to no maintenance over their estimated lifespan of 25–35 years. The only thing that may be necessary is to rinse the solar panels once a year to optimize energy production. This is because pollen and dirt reduce the amount of light the panels need to generate solar energy. If anything were to go wrong, most manufacturers offer long warranties, but this varies by manufacturer and is something you should inquire about before installation.

What financing options are available to me for solar panels?

Should I buy solar panels or lease them?
Whether you choose to buy or lease solar panels is up to you. By investing in solar panels, you increase the value of your home and reduce both your electricity bill and your carbon footprint. If you choose to lease solar panels or a hybrid system that combines solar and wind energy instead, the cost is spread out over many years, and you don’t have to worry about maintenance. In either case, you’ll lower your electricity bill and reduce your environmental impact.
Should you lease solar panels or take out a loan for them?
Both leasing solar panels and taking out a loan for a solar power system have their pros and cons. One thing is certain: regardless of how you finance it, your investment will lower your electricity bill and reduce your carbon footprint. We recommend that you explore both options with your bank.
