Dali PowerTower in the Philippines
The Dali PowerTower was installed in the summer of 2014 at the Children’s Village near Manila, with support from the Hills of Grace Foundation and Children’s Mission. The Dali PowerTower stands on a steep hill, which made the installation process challenging, but this location is ideal for wind energy generation. A concrete foundation was poured on site. The wood used for the tower was pressure-treated Swedish pine, which provided adequate protection for the wooden components against decay and termite infestation. The wind turbine was a 3 kW lightweight machine manufactured in China. A custom-built electrical cabinet equipped with an array of gel batteries was installed to enable off-grid operation of the system.
