A solar carport covering approximately 60 parking spaces will help the facility comply with France's APER law, while also serving as a flagship project for the partnership between Innoventum and Apollo Power
[MALMÖ, Sweden], September 21, 2026 — Innoventum, the Swedish renewable energy company specializing in wooden solar carports and hybrid energy systems, announced today that Amazon has selected Innoventum and Apollo Power, the world’s largest manufacturer of flexible, lightweight solar modules, to deliver a solar carport project to a large logistics center near Lille, France. The two companies will deliver the project through close collaboration (co-creation), combining Innoventum’s wooden carport structures with Apollo Power’s flexible, lightweight solar modules.
This initial pilot installation will cover approximately 60 parking spaces in the facility's parking lot and generate renewable electricity on-site for the facility's own operations.
The project is being delivered in accordance with France’s APER law (Article 40), which requires outdoor parking lots larger than 1,500 m² to be equipped with renewable energy or shading covering at least 50% of the area, with solar carports being the primary means of meeting this requirement. France, where this type of sustainability requirement was introduced earlier than anywhere else in Europe, is one of Innoventum’s core markets.

This marks the first collaboration between Innoventum and Apollo Power, combining Innoventum’s expertise in project development and EPC delivery with Apollo Power’s lightweight, flexible solar cell technology, which is well-suited for carport structures and retrofit applications.
